Drop spindles are a portable and affordable way to make yarn, still used around the world. On all styles, you spin with the hook at the top and wrap spun yarn around the shaft. We make 3 kinds with variations in the whorl, which adds weight.

• The top whorl style weighs 80 g (nearly 3 ounces).
• The Octo style works well for finer yarns, as it weights 40 g (about 1-1/2 ounces).
• The bottom whorl style weighs 80 g (nearly 3 ounces). You can spin the pointed end on a tabletop or floor.
